Bien Hôa School — 1930
Pair of bookends made of a light gray alloy. They depict female busts in traditional costumes and headdresses. These pieces are attributed to the Bien Hoa School of Decorative Arts (1903-1975), as similar bronze examples have been identified. The pair presented here may have been produced as proofs for bronze castings (no other examples of this type have been identified), or as decorative objects in their own right. Work from the 1930s.
